We’re currently seeing one of the largest disparities in valuations between growth and value stocks which in our opinion presents a very appealing opportunity for dividend seeking investors. Inflation is currently at 40 year highs with increasing signs of slowing economic growth.

Short-term news cycle headlines shouldn’t drive portfolio decision-making, but rather your personal objectives, goals, and risktolerance. These items are not static, and can change over time, therefore it’s important to revisit your assetallocation periodically as financial circumstances and life events change your objectives.

We work with clients to create—either in writing or verbally—a “mission statement” detailing how they want their assets to serve their well-being in coming decades. This includes articulating a policy with regard to investment risktolerance, long-term goals, cash flow needs and sector diversification.
So what we find, and then of course we have a multi-asset solutions business where we talk to clients about the entirety of their portfolio, their strategic assetallocation models. They have a different liability structure, different investment goals, different investment risktolerances, and we have different teams.
While we acknowledge that a V-shaped recovery is probably not in the cards and prior valuation targets no longer appear achievable, we remain constructive on equities for the second half, but not complacent. Remember stock valuations are inversely correlated to inflation and interest rates. So a P/E over 20 is probably too rich.
They’re assetallocation model driven folks. They’re, they’re lower risktolerance, I would say very high standards on quality of service and quality of, of infrastructure and decision making. Yeah, it’s super patient, it’s super sophisticated. So it’s very long dated capital.
Barry Ritholtz : So I wanna wrap my head around a large insurer like MassMutual as a client, I would imagine very long term in perspective, but I don’t really grasp what sort of risktolerance an insurance company has. What is that sort of risk embracing, like how, how does that settle out?
