Most analysts expect the FOMC will cut the federal funds rate at the meeting this week by 25bp lowering the target range to 4 1/2 to 4 3/4 percent. Currently almost all market participants are expecting a 25bp cut this week. Market participants are also pricing in another 25bp cut in December.
